Ian Downie

Having lived many lives as a joiner, firefighter, Uni student and college lecturer, Ian Downie has always written poetry. 

"When life doesn't make sense (which is often) I take to rhyme."

Lorna Wallace

A poet who writes in broad Scots as well as standard English. 

Her first Burns inspired poem, 'Tae A Selfie' went viral across social media 4 years ago and last January she won first prize in the New Zealand Robert Burns Poetry Competition for her poem on Donald Trump, 'A Scot's Lament Fur Her American Fellows'.

Robert Neil

lives in Prestwick, though originally from the historical heart of Ayrshire, Galston.  He has been writing poetry and short stories from a young age and has been performing across Ayrshire and Glasgow for a couple of years.  He is now freshly dried off from Cameron’s April Shower event.

Carolyn O'Hara

An English tutor and freelance writer, from Prestwick, who enjoys writing poetry, monologues, articles and short stories as well performing her work at spoken word events. With a passion for social history, she is writing a book about life in and around Ayr in 1898
