People the world over are invited to celebrate the bard’s birthday in his birthplace of Alloway, Ayrshire with a special programme of events that take place around Burns Cottage and surrounding landmarks.

Journey into Burns Alicht, a unique sparkling birthplace tour in celebration of Scotland’s poet Robert Burns. Discover special illuminations, become enchanted by mischievous sights, sounds and entertainment and delight in landmarks coming alive. This special evening concludes with a finale burning of John Barleycorn to the sound of tribal drums!

This winter festival also includes a unique Burns supper in Burns Cottage, Burns Big Birthday Bash, The Alloway 1759 World Haggis Hurling Championships and more.

Burnsfest Saturday 5 May 2018

Burnsfest! 2017 will take place on Sat 6 May at Rozelle Park, Ayr. This FREE family festival will feature live music, Burns Wine Bar and Beer Garden, Pop Up Poems, A-Coo-Stick Tipi, The Mercat, Performance Pokey, Burns Fair and more.

In May 2017 the Burns an’ a’ that! Festival will celebrate its sixteenth anniversary and Scotland’s Year of History, Heritage and Architecture by showcasing some of our best Burns landmarks at weekend events in Ayr, Alloway, Tarbolton and Kirkoswald.
