Biff Smith, was a Girvan fisherman who took up painting after retiring. He was an avid supporter of the McKechnie Institute, taking part in fishing exhibitions and art exhibitions until his death in 1990. His art works are now part of South Ayrshire Council's Girvan Burgh Collection.
